Billy was to stunned to say anything. He stumbled forward towards Mike’s outstretched
arms and as his body reached the fingers, he found himself being pulled hard
into Mike’s sweating body. He felt his own young frame crash into Mike’s
solid body. Billy could feel the muscles that rippled all along Mike’s
stomach and he looked up into the sparkling green eyes.
He could see the laughter there, but he saw something else. There was pleasure, but
there was something else. Something more deep, something he had glimpsed at
before but never really saw or felt. Now he could feel it growing, and his
heart started to quake with fear. He was scared of the deep glowing fire
that seemed to well up inside of Mike’s eyes.
It was as if Mike could sense his fear, and his arms grew tighter around Billy’s
body. They held him close as he gazed down into Billy’s blue eyes. Slowly
he moved his face forward, his eyes refusing to close and his lips coming
ever closer to Billy’s own thin pale red lips.
The touch brought a sudden fire to Billy. He felt himself falling as his whole body
seemed to suddenly collapse into Mike’s strong arms. He found himself
being gently lowered to the grass and the blanket that was stretched out
over the lush green blades of grass.
He wanted to say something but instead all he could do was manage a weak smile as his
eyes were glued to the green orbs of Mike. There didn’t seem to be any
need for words as Mike lay him out, then he reached for the basket and
opened it, to bring out a thermos, some wrapped up buns it looked like and a
whole bunch of other stuff.
Billy lay there, propped up on his elbows as he watched Mike set the blanket. He
brought glasses out, then plates and then a vase in which he placed one
single red rose. It stood there, between the plates and Billy could feel the
tears flowing down his cheeks. He glanced over at Mike who merely smiled at
him, then he started to pour from the thermos orange juice into the glasses.
Mike handed Billy one glass then took the other and raised it upwards, towards Billy.
“To my Love, the one who one day, when this screwed up world can deal with it, I will
be able to proudly introduce at center field as my mate, my love. So
here’s to that day Billy”
With that he drank
the juice and kept his eyes on Billy. What could he say, he drank from the
glass, his hands trembling with emotion as the words echoed in his head. How
the hell had Mike managed all
